Keloids and Scars Specialist

Keloids and Scars are a common condition and Dr. Obayan specializes in treating these scars, which appear more often in brown, tanned-appearing or deeply hued skin.

What are Keloids or Scars?

Keloids are Scars that are the result of injury to the skin where collagen forms around the injured area. In many cases, scarring creates small raised tissue areas on the surface of the skin. There are cases where collagen is formed, leaving raised scars, and other instances where the scars are depressed; these are known as atrophic scars. This could be the result of:

  • Burns
  • Insect Bites
  • Cuts
  • Tattoos
  • Injections
  • Acne

Some of the scars can be lifelong if not treated. Dr. Obayan has unmatched expertise in scar removal within the Austin area.
